Begin by assessing the severity of the scratch and utilize the finest sandpaper to start the repair process. Rub the sandpaper over the scratch in a straight line, periodically changing rubbing directions by 90 degrees to ensure comprehensive removal. If progress is slow, consider using a slightly heavier sandpaper. To reduce dust during sanding, dampen the surface and rinse the pad periodically to remove residue.
